Wow! It's been awhile!!!

Well, I am almost done with class #11.  It's hard to believe I've made it this far and if I can hold on just a little bit longer, I will surive!!!  At this point I am proud to say I have a 4.0. I will be done March 25th but don't officially graduate until May 17th, the weeek befor my baby graduates from college.

Was it worth it? Sure, the increase in pay will be very nice

Would I do it again?Maybe, but definitely not from the same institution!!!!

If any of you are considering going through a cohort to get you Masters please talk to me first so you don't have to go through the same stupidity the last 15 m onths of my life has been.

Feeling a bit green around the gills

A few days ago Marc decided the van I was driving needed to be replaced. I can't help but wonder if it might have had a few good miles left in it. It's true I have been driving it 4 months short of 11 years but still. That van will always have a significant spot in my memories. Family driving trips to Kansas, Wyoming, The Corn Palace in South Dakota, Florida, Nashville, and far too many quizzes to remember. Oh well, it is now gone and in its place sits another red vehicle which I'm sure will play a part in memories yet to be made.

Only a few short days until school begins. It's totally ridiculous how excited I am. Lots of stuff left to prepare so the next few days will be long but fun. Off to prepare mini offices for my lil' darlings!

Sometimes I'm simply clueless

Boy am I a goof ball.  I thought I had 13 classes total in my Masters program but informed that I was wrong, it's actually 11 classes!!!  That's really great news. Class #1 was really tough with lots of work.  Final grade: 99.5% Class #2 was very painful due to a not so great instructor...in all fairness, I don't believe it was all her fault.  Final grade: 99% bah humbug! Class #3, second class tonight and it's pretty good so far. Final grade: will know in 5 weeks but if the trend continues I expect to receive approximately 98.5%.

School is still very interesting.  I love my nine little cherubs and pray they will receive a fair shake in life.  They have such different lives from anything I have ever experienced.  The best I can do is to give them a safe and loving environment for 6 hours a day.  God help me!

On the very bright side, I have a student that is growing in leaps and bounds in his reading ability.  It is such a joy to watch him beam when I use him as an example of "what a good reader/student does."  Maybe I am making a difference.

1 down...12 to go!

I survived the first class and think I did ok. The final paper, all 55 pages, were turned in last Wednesday night. I crawled through Thursday and Friday, due to lack of sleep and being sick. Unfortunately I was observed Thursday morning and didn't feel like I was on top of my game. Actually cried about having to physically remove a student from the room, it was just such an emotional experience! I think it may have actually been the reaction of the other adults in my room that got to me the most....I really hate having to get physical with these kids!!!

Today I slept till 11:00. It is now 12:44 and I have no desire to do anything. Oh well, I know I'll wake up in a bit! I have no class on Monday since it was a scheduled snow make-up day so I don't start my next class until Wednesday night! YIPPEE...a night off!

God, Family, Home, Students, Grad classes, Church...I want to do well in all of these areas. Have to continue  to work on finding a way to keep balance in my life.

I know things will work out, just need to keep praying!

It's Official

I've lost my mind! As of Monday, November 26th, I am a full time student. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I will have my Masters in Literacy by the end of March 2009. I'm tired just thinking of what the next 16 months will look like. Let's see, at this point I have 3 papers due next Monday! Yikes...I will definitely need prayer. (So will Marc!)
